2 oz Krogstad Aquavit
3 oz Cold-pressed tomato juice
1/2 oz Nuoc Cham (or to taste)
Sriracha (to taste)
Shake; strain into tall ice-filled glass
Garnish with Thai Basil, lime wedge
Nuoc Cham:
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup warm water
1/4 cup Asian fish sauce, preferably nuoc mam
1 small shallot, sliced thin
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 garlic clove, minced
1 fresh Thai chile (2 to 3 inches; preferably red) including seeds, thinly sliced crosswise
Refrigerate overnight
