The up front nose is anise and then gives way to rye bread and caraway
The light toast of the barrels mellow out the spiciness of the aquavit and impart earthy toasted nut flavors that act as a backdrop to the spirit.
The natural oil character of the Gamle lends a subtle sweetness to the finish
ABOUT AQUAVIT
Aquavit is a centuries-old Nordic spirit, distilled from grain or potato and flavored with caraway and possibly other natural botanicals. Big and bold, with plenty of anise, licorice and caraway on the nose and palate, plus hints of fennel, black pepper and cinnamon zing on the spicy, mouthwatering finish.
